Igal is a lovely small town located in Somogy county. Its friendly atmosphere, historic monuments, hospitable people and famous and well-known thermal bath make it a popular destination among tourists who wish to get healing and relaxation. The Igal Thermal Bath is one of the oldest baths in the South Transdanubian region, only 40km south of Lake Balaton and half an hour from the M7 motorway.

The 81°C thermal water with amazing healing power comes from 651m deep, and it has an extremely high dissolved mineral content (10.358 mg/litre), which has been considered among the best ones in Europe for the last 50 years. It is confirmed by those satisfied guests who found healing here for hopeless conditions, recovered after an accident or could conceive a baby as a result of the beneficial effects of the Igal thermal water.

The bath is family friendly, therefore anyone can find the most ideal facilities and programmes for their age.

The mineral water of Igal

The water contains alkaline chloride and hidrogen carbonate, and owing to its iodide ion content, it is classified as an iodine water. Due to its high temperature and the mineral content it has a significant curative effect: supports the healing of rheumatoid locomotor diseases, post-lesial circulation disorders, articular problems. Also, it has a benign effect on chronic gynaecological complaints - menstrual disorders, tumours, cystitis, inflammations - as well as urological problems and spinal illnesses.

Moreover, it is used to treat chronic bronchitis, the inflammation of the accessory cavity, gastritis, hyperacidity, gastric and duodenal ulcer, haemorrhoids. As a drinking cure it is advised for metabolism and digestive disorders, deficiency of peristalsis, vascular fistula. Its iodine content makes it suitable to treat lesions, vascular fistula, whereas its bromide helps those suffering from insomnia, its fluoride on the other hand protects the teeth.

We regularly hold sauna sessions and aqua-zumba classes, which are aimed at visitors who enjoy an active relaxation. At the weekend our children animators entertain the youngest visitors. Throughout the year we offer a wide range of cultural events and programmes, and seasonal discounts.

Medical treatment:

On the territory of the thermal bath there is a rheumatologist and trained healthcare personnel to assist our visitors in their healing process.

Medical services: pool bath, baths, different massages (refreshing, medical, lymphatic, lava rock), mud treatment, cupping, underwater massage, weight bath.

There are 13 kids and thermal pools, and almost all of them are equipped with spa elements to provide full relaxation for the visitors. In the sauna world there are two Finnish saunas and two Infra saunas (with differently set temperatures) and a plunge pool. The visitors can enjoy the spacious relaxation area and sunbathing areas that are decorated with flowers.
