Sundials in Siófok
SUNDIALS IN SIÓFOK
Based on the apparent movement of the Sun in a more or less uniform direction from east to west, the length and direction of the shadow of a suitably chosen object quantitatively show the passage of time on a daily basis. An arrangement that takes advantage of this movement of the Sun on the sundial.
Two sundials were operating in Siófok for two decades.
- One of these is in front of the Railway Station approx. since 1990.
- The second is the work of sculptor Lajos Barta and is located on the beach since 1963. There are some more since then.
